  • Spring 2022 High Point Trends and Takeaways

It’s been quite a few years since we did a full team trip down to High Point Market for the duration of the show, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Everyday was stacked with back to back appointments at our favourite showrooms, and it was so great to see some of our top picks in person. If you’re curious about what’s new for spring ‘22, take a look at all the trends and takeaways from the show, in case you missed it on instagram.

    Tonal, earthy interiors

From showroom to showroom, dark, moody interiors stole the show. Dimly lit rooms with a warm, romantic ambiance was a huge focus of the show, to create spaces that are both welcoming and relaxing – all at the same time.

    Organic + Textured Materials

Think less smooth and perfect (let’s be real, that’s a no-go with kids), and more natural, forgiving, and organic (a LOT more realistic for the rest of us). It's important to create liveable homes and spaces that not only get better with age, but with pieces that stand the test of time. Investing in a high quality sofa that you absolutely love is always the better route over a cheap sofa made to last 5 years tops! We're so excited to see more organic materials being used in furniture and textiles, along with layered patterned throw pillows, shaved boucle throws, and layered linens adorning bedspreads.

    Pops of intential colour

Gone are the days when interiors were bright white - with not much else. The key to designing a thoughtful space is ensuring all pieces work together in harmony, playing off of each other to tell a story. To help tell that story, colour is making its way back into our homes - and in fashion. People are craving life in colour, and that was definitely apparent at the show. From showroom to showroom, dark, moody interiors stole the show. Traditional Silhouettes

As we see a little more of a formal twist on interiors come into play (looking at you, Bridgerton), traditional silhouettes are making a comeback in interior design, in a big way. Pair a traditional dining table with trendier curved upholstered dining chairs, and you've got yourself a match made in heaven.

    Slipcovered Upholstery

We all have those spaces where an upholstered sofa just won't work in a practical sense - but fear not - slipcovered sofas are back in style. We saw many relaxed silhouettes, forgivable linens, and slipcovers that are easily removed and washed to suit your lifestyle - whatever that may be.

From soft edges to heavy, layered textures, pops of organic materials and punches of colour, these upcoming trends are bound to be a hit with your clients, and we can’t wait for some of these pieces to hit our showroom floor in the coming months!Looking for more inspiration?
